Toulon and La Seyne-sur-Mer are two separate cruise terminals on opposite sides of the same bay. They are not interchangeable. Work backwards from the all-aboard time on your ship’s daily programme and this guide will tell you what genuinely fits in the hours you have.
Everything below is checked against official port, transport and municipal sources. Where we suggest how long to allow, that is our planning advice, not an official schedule.

Which terminal is your ship at?
You cannot tell from the town name alone. Both terminals are sold as “Toulon”, and the town of La Seyne-sur-Mer is a separate commune in the same harbour area.

Ports Rade de Toulon-La Seyne
Read the all-aboard time and the port of call in your ship’s daily programme or the cruise line’s own app.
Check whether the call says Toulon or La Seyne-sur-Mer. Both sit in the same bay, and the port’s own sea shuttle between them takes 10 minutes.
Check whether your ship is running a sea shuttle, and whether it is free or charged. The port operator says this is arranged by the ship owner or the terminal manager, and lists it as a service being proposed rather than a given.

Opposite Stade Mayol, at the end of the harbour in the middle of the city. The port operator publishes this address for reaching the cruise quays; the terminal itself has no separate street address on its terminal page.

If you are berthed at La Seyne-sur-Mer, the crossing to this terminal is the sea shuttle, not a walk.

A dedicated cruise terminal across the bay, at the foot of Cap Sicié. The port operator prints the address as “Cor Philippe Giovannini”.

The port advises a taxi from La Seyne-sur-Mer / Six-Fours station: about 10 to 20 minutes, around €15.
Who calls here
The published 2026 calls list shows the very largest ships here, on Mole Nord in every case we could read, including Costa Pacifica, Queen Victoria, Arvia and Brilliance of the Seas.
Your ship may run the sea shuttle to Toulon city centre. The port describes it as a service being proposed, so ask before you plan a day around it.

They face each other across the water, so the crossing is short. That does not make them the same place.

Sails from the landing stage beside Toulon’s ferry terminal to La Seyne-sur-Mer. The port tells you to alight at the “Espace Marine” stop, then walk 15 minutes to the cruise terminal.

At Toulon, lines 3 (direction Le Mourillon) or 23 (direction Espace 3000) serve the “Mayol” stop, the closest one to the terminal. At La Seyne-sur-Mer, lines 81 or 83 run from “Rouve”, 5 minutes on foot from the terminal, to “Mairie La Seyne” in about 6 minutes.

Stay where you landed
Not enough time to cross the bay and come back. Do one thing near the terminal and be early.
Walk out of the terminal and turn left
If you are at Toulon: The harbour frontage, Stade Mayol, then the first stretch of Cours Lafayette. You are in the city within a few minutes.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: The seafront promenade below Cap Sicié and into the centre around Cours Louis Blanc. The port puts the town centre 30 minutes on foot from this terminal.

If you are at Toulon: Free Wi-Fi, a multilingual information point, pop-up stands with local producers, and a hop-on / hop-off tourist train that starts on site.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: Free Wi-Fi and a multilingual information desk, plus pop-up stands with local producers. They can tell you what is open in your window.

Enough for a single destination with time to sit down, not enough for two.
Les Halles de Toulon, 28 Place Vincent Raspail
If you are at Toulon: A covered food hall in the city centre, open year-round from Tuesday to Sunday, so it works in the heat or if the weather turns. Good default when your window is unpredictable.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: Only if your ship runs the shuttle. Otherwise the crossing each way makes this tight.
Cours Lafayette, Toulon
If you are at Toulon: The long Provençal market along the city centre. Published hours 07:30 to 12:30, closed Monday; the port operator describes it as mornings only, up to 1 p.m. Free access, and the port lists it as a walk-out from the terminal.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: Only with the sea shuttle, and only in the morning — the market is finished by early afternoon.
Cours Louis Blanc, La Seyne-sur-Mer
If you are at Toulon: Only if you have decided to make the crossing. Allow the crossing both ways.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: The town’s main food and fairground market. Published hours 08:30 to 12:30, Tuesday to Sunday, closed Monday. On Mondays, Place Saint-Jean runs 08:30 to 12:30 instead, and on Wednesdays a fairground-only market runs there 08:30 to 12:30.

Comfortable enough for one big thing plus a meal, or two smaller ones.
Mont Faron by cable car
If you are at Toulon: About 6 minutes up to a summit at 584 m, a 378 m climb. Published 2026 opening from 10:00 with seasonal closing times, a cabin at departure roughly every 10 to 20 minutes, and both the cash desks and the last ascent closing 15 minutes before closing. Take Mistral line 40 to the “Téléphérique” stop, then about 2 minutes on foot. The Mémorial and the animal park at the top are ticketed separately.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: Reachable, but the cable car station is on the Toulon side. Take the sea shuttle or a bus into Toulon first, and keep an eye on the last descent — it is 15 minutes before closing.
A boat trip on the rade
If you are at Toulon: The Toulon tourist office runs a commented boat tour of the rade, leaving from Toulon port and passing La Seyne-sur-Mer, the Sablettes and Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer. Ask on arrival for the sailing times and price.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: Same trips, but you have to reach Toulon port first. Weather-dependent, so treat it as the plan you abandon, not the plan you rely on.
The Sablettes side, from La Seyne
If you are at Toulon: You can reach the Sablettes on foot along the coast from the city centre, but it eats time you may not have.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: Sablettes beach and waterfront. On Fridays there is also a Grand Marché on the Avenue de Gaulle, the corniche Pompidou and the esplanade Bœuf, from 08:30 to 13:00.

Treat it as a real day
Only here does it make sense to plan a sequence rather than a single stop.
Hill in the morning, city in the afternoon
If you are at Toulon: Cable car up once the lifts open at 10:00, then down into the old town, the harbour and Cours Lafayette while the market is still on.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: Same plan from the other side, but build the crossing into the morning rather than trying to do both ends of the bay.
A pre-booked car with a driver
If you are at Toulon: Available from the terminal on booking. Best used on long calls, and better than taxis if you want the car held for you.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: The port operator asks you to book 24 to 48 hours ahead. For a long call this is the difference between a relaxed day and a queue.
Both markets, if the days line up
If you are at Toulon: Neither Cours Lafayette nor Cours Louis Blanc runs on a Monday. On a long call that is a real constraint, not a detail.
If you are at La Seyne-sur-Mer: If the day is not a Monday you can do Toulon’s market and La Seyne’s, but the crossing is what costs you the time.
Time bands are our planning advice, not official schedules. Opening hours, fares and transport change. The calculator starts on an 08:30 to 18:00 example because most published 2026 Toulon calls fall between 08:00 and 18:00, while La Seyne-sur-Mer calls more often sit between 06:30 and 16:00. It is only an example, and your ship’s programme decides.

The port puts the town centre 30 minutes on foot away, and advises a taxi from La Seyne-sur-Mer / Six-Fours station: 10 to 20 minutes, around €15.

What will not work in a cruise call
So you do not spend a third of your time ashore on transport that was never going to fit.
The airport
Toulon-Hyères airport is about 30 minutes away on Mistral line 102, and a taxi from it is quoted at around €70 for 40 to 45 minutes to the La Seyne terminal. Neither is a usable connection inside a day call.
Taking a train
Toulon station is about 15 minutes on foot from the cruise quays, and regional services run from there. Within a single day call, the train almost never pays for the time it costs you.
Hiring a car
You would be collecting and returning a vehicle inside a few hours. A car with a driver, booked in advance, is the sensible version of this idea.

Both terminals list taxis and cars with drivers, and the Toulon terminal lists shuttles for people with reduced mobility as a regular service. At the port, disabled-access services are available on request, up to 8 people. Ask the information desk on arrival rather than planning it from here.
